Selling.... and buying!!

So I made just under £30 on ebay this week, got some more stuff I want to list tomorrow but also now working on a list of things to buy now so I can carry on experimenting. Esmer on MSE forums suggested these

Disposable piping bag
Wilton 1m nozzle

The daisy flower cutting tool/plunger
Small sugarpaste roller
Foam board to shape.

I am also thinking of getting a Wilton 2D nozzle too. Anyone with any further suggestions would be greatly received, aims tomorrow are to package everything I have sold ready for posting on Monday, putting some more stuff on Ebay and then checking out ebay and other sites to spend my earnings, anyone have any tips??
I am also going to make some more cupcakes tomorrow ready for friends I have coming round on Monday, not sure yet but maybe something lemony. Checking out a couple of recipes later or in morning.

Yesterday I also quickly went to one of the local country markets to see what was being sold. I couldn't stop and chat to stall holders as I didn't have change for car parking (note for next time). What I saw it was only some home made breads/ buns and then some jams and chutneys. There are a couple of other ones I want to check out too so will keep posted on that. So will hopefully update tomorrow with some pics too.

An update

I made my lists last night and I am hoping to put the must do list on here and tick off as I go along, I have also made some cakes tonight and had a go at icing them, the results are not that great and I would say 'Going on a course' needs to move from the Would love to list to Need to list! They are ok but just not got that wow factor. I have a real issue with the finishing of swirls, any tips would be great. I think now that I need to work on experimenting with flavours and jotting down some ideas that would I think might work well and giving them a go. I didn't get my stuff on ebay last night but I think that is a must do to get some cash to purchase some cake decorating things and get some money to do a course. Any hints and tips would be gratefully received. I will post some pictures of the cakes I made today on here tomorrow.

Some experimenting

These were my first attempts with the piping bag! Not bad for a first go.

Starting out and experimenting

So after a couple of years of making the odd muffin, cupcake and also a couple of Christmas cakes and birthday cakes I have decided to take the plunge and am currently looking into setting up my own cupcake business. I want to start off very small and just start by practising and trying lots of different recipes and techniques.  I am going to put up pictures as and when I have them for people to comment on and give me tips.My current ideas are that I need to build up some equipment and looking at selling some stuff on Ebay to purchase some stuff. I am also looking at going into going to the local country markets and see what the deal is there. There are a couple of things that I need to do before I can even contemplate selling anything and that is get my food and hygiene certificate and get my kitchen inspected. Tonight I want to get some stuff on ebay and then I want to make a list of need to do/buy, would like to do/buy and would be nice to do/ buy. I then want to go slowly and just make some cakes and ice them, oh and taste them!!! My daughters are going to be thrilled! So that is it for now, any hints and tips and must dos would be greatly appreciated!
